When does Chainsmoker Cat come out? Release date and schedule
The official anime site lists the television launch from July 2, 2026 on TOKYO MX and BS11, with streaming beginning later in the same late-night block.
AT-X follows on a separate timetable, and the official table remains the best source for service changes. Japanese late-night listings cross midnight, so the same programme can appear under a different calendar date outside Japan.
Netflix appears in the official streaming table, but access and language options remain regional. Confirm the title page from the account and country you use.

Story setup
Humans and beastfolk share the same world, but Yanineko's immediate problems are ordinary ones: cigarettes, rent, unstable work, and a room she cannot manage.
The adaptation uses cute character design against adult bad-habit comedy and practical consequences. The official Episode 1 setup connects the apartment, work, Imoko, and Landlord Otani before the story widens in Episode 2.
That makes the anime easy to sample from the beginning. The first five published story entries introduce the lead's home pressures, Yakuneko and the wider group around her, work trouble in the apartment building, and Imoko's attempt to change Yanineko's routine.
Start with the Episode 1 recap if you want the opening setup in story order.
What studio animated Chainsmoker Cat? Staff and cast
Taku Kimura directs, Takashi Aoshima handles series scripts, Riki Matsuura is credited for character design, and Keiichi Suzuki composes the music.
Bibury Animation Studios produces the animation, with Yuko Natsuyoshi leading the cast as Yanineko. Misato Matsuoka voices Yakuneko, while the official cast credits the rest of the supporting group individually.
The staff and cast pages should be read alongside each other: production credits explain who made the adaptation, and the character guide explains where each voiced role enters the story.
See the role-by-role list in the characters and voice cast guide.
Manga, music, and official video
The anime adapts NyanNyanFactory's Yani Neko manga from Young Magazine. Seven Seas publishes the English edition as Chainsmoker Cat, while the official anime site keeps the current broadcast, music, and video links together.
Use publisher pages for edition details and the official anime pages for videos, songs, and broadcast updates. Those sources change at different speeds and answer different questions.
The manga and anime guide explains where the two formats meet.
Tracking and databases
MyAnimeList can be useful for personal tracking, compact cast lookup, and changing community statistics. Its scores and popularity positions can move as more members add or rate the series.
Use the official anime site for broadcast times, episode information, staff, and version labels. A community database is a secondary reference and should not replace the production's current schedule.
